Opportunity  description

Resident Yoga Teacher/Facilitator Position, Starting January 2025

Hello Yogis and Wellness Facilitators!

Are you ready to teach and live on a remote, tropical island paradise in the Philippines? Located on Darocotan Island we are seeking a vibrant, community-oriented yoga teacher / wellness facilitator to join our team as a resident instructor, starting in early January 2025.

About DRYFT
DRYFT is a boutique eco-glamping retreat and hotel located on a stunning, off-grid island near El Nido, Palawan. Our venue is designed to harmonize with nature, featuring an iconic, artistically built jungle yoga shala that accommodates up to 30 mats; sustainably crafted accommodations, and a team dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences. While we primarily operate as a hotel, we also offer flexible yoga holiday packages and group yoga classes that are open to both hotel and wellness guests.

The Role
As a resident teacher/facilitator, you will:

  • Lead two daily yoga classes (e.g., dynamic morning flow and slower afternoon styles like Yin or Hatha), with the schedule typically shared with one other resident teacher.
  • Share your unique skills through additional modalities (if applicable) such as:
    • Sound healing
    • Meditation
    • Breathwork
    • Pilates
    • Conscious dance
    • Energy practices (Reiki, Theta, etc.)
    • Creative arts
    • Coaching
    • Fitness workouts
  • Create a welcoming environment by connecting with guests during meal times and around the camp.
  • Offer private sessions or workshops, which can provide significant additional earning opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • RYT-certified yoga teacher with at least 1 year of regular teaching experience.
  • Comfortable teaching a range of levels, including beginners.
  • Friendly, inclusive, and adaptable personality.
  • Proficiency in English (not necessarily native, but confident for teaching non-native speakers).
  • Availability for a minimum 4-week residency, starting January 2025.

We are ideally looking for a yoga teacher who also offers other wellness modalities to help expand our offerings and create an even richer experience for our guests.

What We Offer
This is a work exchange position, where your teaching of group classes is compensated through:

  • Accommodation in a comfortable glamping tent (queen-sized bed, shared bathrooms). During busier periods, you may share the tent with the other resident teacher (different beds, same gender).
  • Three daily meals prepared by our talented kitchen team.
  • Access to snorkel and SUP equipment.
  • Significant potential to earn additional income through private sessions or workshops, based on agreed modalities and guest interest.
  • A once-in-a-lifetime chance to live on a remote island surrounded by natural beauty, vibrant sunsets, and a welcoming community.

Life on the Island
Darocotan Island is remote and off-grid—perfect for those who want to live close to nature. DRYFT is a 15-minute boat ride and a 45-minute drive from El Nido town. While the location is idyllic, island life comes with its challenges, requiring adaptability and openness. Our community is close-knit, our environment eco-conscious, and our lifestyle aligned with the rhythms of the island.

Interested? Let’s Connect!
Due to the number of applications we receive, we will only be able to respond to shortlisted applicants. To make your application stand out, please send your CV, a cover letter detailing your experience, and why you’d be the perfect person for this role. Feel free to include links to any relevant social media or your website.

Send your application to wellness@dryft.camp. We look forward to hearing from you!

Warm regards,
The DRYFT Team
